Use of Facebook social plug-ins

Our internet presence uses social plug-ins (“Plug-ins”) of the social network, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plug-ins are identified by one of the Facebook logotypes (white „f“ on a blue tile or a „thump up“ sign) or by the textual addition “Facebook social plug-in”. The list and the appearance of the Facebook social plug-ins can be viewed here:

If you open a web site of our internet presence which contains a plug-in, your browser builds a direct link to the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is sent by Facebook directly to your browser, which integrates it in the web site. So we have no influence on the scope of data which Facebook acquires by means of the plug-in and therefore inform you of what we know:

The integration of the plug-in provides Facebook with the information that you have accessed our internet presence. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with a plug-in, for example, press the Like button or enter a comment, this information is sent by your browser directly to Facebook and stored there. If you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible that Facebook knows and saves your IP address.

The purpose and extent of data acquisition and the further processing and use of such data by Facebook as well as the rights you have in this respect and what settings you can make to protect your privacy is set out in the privacy policy of Facebook at:

If you are a member of Facebook and would not like Facebook to collect data about you through our internet presence and link the data to your member data stored by Facebook, you have to log out with Facebook before going to our web site.

Facebook social plug-ins can also be blocked by add-ons for your browser, e.g., the “Facebook Blocker“.
